Androids is a short prototype game that I started developing as an experiment to see how much of a game I could develop from scratch, including art assets, audio and gameplay, during a three hour train journey to Dundee. Not a huge amount as it turned out, although I did at least have the base mechanics and assets implemented by the end of the journey. I decided to continue working on the prototype to get it to a working level, which I somewhat managed though I had to drop it slightly sooner than I had hoped due to other work such as coursework projects and exams.
The idea of the game is to use both sight and sound to track down the ‘androids’ hidden among the human population and remove them from the area. Initially I considered including more potential indicators for which characters are androids and assigning each android a certain number of indicators, an idea that was not within the relatively simply scope of the original prototype but is still in consideration should I choose to continue development of this particular project.
